"Seed scholars provides an accessible and inclusive educational session which aims at all learners and leaves no one behind"
↠ Sarah Boland,

“Eliya presented the weekly "Growing together" sessions on our Zoom platform during Covid-lockdown. Sharing her vast knowledge of gardening in a friendly and entertaining way with the people who use our service was a real gem in our weekly schedule. This was a truly inclusive workshop and encouraged many people to grow vegetables at home for the first time. Thank you very much Seed Scholars and we hope to welcome you back some time very soon!.”

“Eliya was extremely energetic in delivering the session and we were thoroughly engaged throughout! We particularly enjoyed the Hapa Zome craft element and the games used throughout which really connected the learning back to the classroom. We thoroughly enjoyed it and came away from the session with a wealth of ideas. The links provided at the end were excellent. The content was engaging and the presentation had lots of pictures to stimulate discussion.”

"Eliya worked in our school with boys from 2nd-4th class over a period of 4 weeks. Both children and staff eagerly awaited the Seed Scholars workshop days. Eliya is an excellent communicator and engages the children instantly. Her passion for her work is inspirational and despite our school being located in the inner city Eliya found imaginative and creative ways to explore plants, soil and the natural environment with the boys. Eliya has remarkable organisational skills, there is a clear learning intention and structure to each workshop. It was a pleasure to have the Seed Scholars program in our school."

"Eliya's workshops were truly wonderful. They were fun, active, engaging and pitched at the perfect level for my group of First Class children. Each week we looked forward to Eliya's visits with great anticipation. To be outdoors, whatever the weather, engaging in creative and active pursuits brought out the best in each and every student. It has also inspired me, as a class teacher, to research and engage in as much outdoor, nature based learning as possible in the future. Thank you Eliya."

"It was all beautiful and holistic. I liked the way it taught the pupils how to appreciate the simple things in life, which starts with nature I believe. Each lesson was a standout lesson. If I were to pick one- I would choose the lesson where the children were making nests for birds. Taking part in Seed Scholars is so calming and good for children's well being with lots of moments for them to be creative. Thank you Eliya."

"Eliya is amazing at what she does. She works hard to create wonderful outdoor opportunities for the children to take part in experiential learning. She is kind and nurturing in her approach and skillfully maintains the children's attention to keep them on task. Eliya uses a very good questioning technique which she uses to help the children reflect on the beauty of nature and in doing so, she grows their appreciation for the outdoors. The Seed Scholars sessions have a lovely calming effect on the children also. I have felt so fortunate to be able to experience the joys of Seed Scholars with the children this term."

"Seed Scholars is an essential program to have in all schools. It gives the children the chance to become explorers, scientists and investigators, what more could you ask for. We were lucky to have such an amazing tutor, Eliya. Not only was she highly skilled, informed and organised. She had a great rapport with the children, she made the content accessible and fun to Senior Infants. She gave the children the chance to be hands-on learners. I would highly recommend Seed Scholars to everyone."

"I've been teaching over 30 years and I honestly could not improve on the lessons. We all looked forward to our Tuesday morning sessions with Eliya. Her lessons were always meticulously prepared and were delivered with a great sense of fun. The children engaged in discovery learning and gained expertise in many areas of diversity including soil analysis and plant identification."

"Eliya is so good at what she does. Her welcome smile and genuine nature will instantly put you/ your child at ease and get you ready to get down to the serious business of having fun in nature. As your tutor/ guide you can look forward to a safe , fun informative time under Eliya’s professional leadership style. You get a sense of back to basics play whilst learning new skills and building your own self confidence in the outdoors . Afterwards you feel restored and refreshed . “It was such a treat having Eliya work with us over the last number of weeks. The students got to experience a topic that they otherwise may not have had much access to. The Hands-On learning had a real impact on the boys who would chatter about what they learned for days afterwards. Eliya is creative, knowledgeable and, above all, FUN! The students had a great time in all of the workshops. We hope to see her again next year!”

“We liked the mix of theory and practical. Letting the children see the progression from planting to harvesting/eating was excellent, and something they will always remember. We found Seed Scholars to be a great educational initiative. The children learnt through both theory and practice-the theory included visual aids and chants/rhymes, which helped embed the knowledge, and every session involved the children outside and 'doing'”

“Fantastic resource pack, filled with information and conversation starters, all through wonderful storytelling! Great to have the option for English and Irish - I think families and teachers would appreciate this and it provides great opportunities to learn new vocabulary together! The illustrations are colourful, cheerful and interesting. The format is very user friendly and engaging. I think the fact box and reflection questions are brilliant. As a teacher, I feel there is room to extend these stories into various projects, lessons (for example, Art) and learning opportunities. I hope to share these lovely stories with my students! Thank you!”
